About Me
I have struggled most of my life with weight loss. After seeing my sister lose 20lbs in a ten week challenge, I was determined to do the same. Because, you know, I’m competitive like that. This website is my way of capturing my journey as a way to keep myself motivated, but also to hopefully help others find their own way.
First Challenge
My first challenge started on October 29th, 2018. I weighed almost 230lbs, my heaviest ever. My knees were getting worse and worse with the onset of osteoarthritis, and I knew that I needed to make a change. Over six weeks, I lost over 23lbs thanks to my AFF and a mind-set that was determined to succeed.
Second Challenge
After four weeks off for the holidays, my second challenge started on January 7th, 2019. I gained five pounds between challenges (most of this was water weight), so I will have to put forth even more effort to make my goal this time around.
EDIT: Whoops! Broke my finger. Have to take a few challenges off.
Second Second Challenge
I’m back with the April 15th challenge and ready to go! My finger has healed (mostly), I’ll be avoiding any pull-ups, and doing everything I can to beat this. It’s going to be a long road though because I gained back a bit more weight. I’m starting at 215 this time, and my official “start” weight for the challenge is 205.7.
Week 2 weigh in: 205.5
My Achievements
This journey is about my overall health and not a number on a scale. However, I won’t lie, it’s nice to see that scale move as quickly as it has. In the end though, the habits, and the friends are worth far more than the lbs lost.
